How gross is this....

Had a nice drive up to beaconhill and then to whinneyhill, but this poor dead crow skewered on a branch in the middle of a field sickened us!!
This has to be one of the most awful things ive ever seen.
Is this supposed to be some sort of sick form of scarecrow?....shouldnt be allowed.

It is probably a basic gamekeepers gibbet. I remember in the eighties coming across a field gate decorated with about a dozen crow corpses plus a couple of stoats and a few moles. They were displayed by the keeper so that the farmer could see that he was doing his job.

Hi Swifty, sorry i havent replied before now but my internet has been doen for a few days and its still pot luck getting online now (joys of bt!!)
It should be against the law to do that i just think its so cruel.
